IP Soft-phone
IP Soft-phone is easy-to-install software
that turns any laptop or desktop PC into an extension of your
KX-TDA100, KX-TDA200 or KX-TDA600 phone system. With IP
Softphone, all you need is a high-speed Internet connection to
make and receive calls using a headset that plugs into your PC.
And it doesn’t matter where in the world you are as long as you can
connect to a local (LAN) or wide (WAN) area network over a VPN.
An operational KX-NT136 telephone
appears on the screen of any PC running IP Soft-phone.
The image actually looks and operates like the KX-NT136, with
almost every KX-NT136 feature. The only real difference is the fact
that you use your mouse and keyboard to make calls and access
all your menu functions. In fact, with IP Soft-phone your PC can
become your single source for voice and data.
Ensures excellent voice quality
The Panasonic IP Soft-phone converts digital voice into standard
RTP*/IP packets, which are then transmitted over a TCP/IP network.
The product facilitates Quality of Service by supporting VLAN
tagging (802.1p/Q) to enable dedicated bandwidth to handle voice
traffic. Furthermore, IP VPN tunnel can ensure that voice speech is
encrypted so there is virtually no chance of eavesdropping as the
voice packets travel over the Internet. *RTP = Real Time Protocol
Requirements
IP Softphone operates exclusively with the KX-TDA100,
KX-TDA200 and KX-TDA600 IP PBX systems enabled for IP
extensions. To install and operate IP Soft-phone, your PC must
meet the following minimum software and hardware requirements:
Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional SP2; Pentium® M 1.86 GHz;
512 MB of RAM; 50 MB available hard drive space upon installation;
1024 x 768 XGA display; 100BASE-T LAN Ethernet; sound
board, speaker, microphone and CD-ROM drive.
